Quinta de Odelouca has 21 pitches and is a relaxed, family-run rural campsite, in the midst of nature, surrounded by glorious views of beautiful hills of the Serra de Monchique. It is an ideal location for families with children, couples, walkers, cyclists, fisherman and photographers, and is within walking distance of the small parish of São Marcos da Serra.
Enjoy the ultimate peace in the shadows of the olive trees, the panoramic views, the birds and the wild flowers.

300 days of sunshine

They say about the Algarve that sun is shining 300 days a year. But of course it will be raining occasionally. Although here you can literally say: after rain there is always sunshine. Read more about the weather and the climate of the Algarve.
Almost every pitch has some shadow. There is, also in warmer months, always a light breeze that cools you down.
Because the rural character of the campsite it's not allowed to use air-conditioning. At the salt-water swimming pool is a big porch were you can stay in a pleasant way out of the sun. The nights are cool, in summertime about 18° C. (65° F.)

Tourist campsite

We have chosen for a real tourist campsite, there are no possibilities for long stay caravans or mobile homes. When you want to stay for a longer time, the maximum is 5 months. If you have plans to stay with us 7 days or more, it is better first contact us. We prefer this by email if possible: .

Opening times

Quinta de Odelouca is open from the 1^st of January until 31^st of May.

Opening time of the reception and arrival times:
- from 8.30h - 19.00h;
Earliest departure time: 8.30h. Please tell us 1 day before, that you want to leave. Then we have everything ready the next morning for your departure.
Departure: max. at 12.00h (all saisons). When you leave later (max. until 18.00h), you will pay half a night extra.

Silence

Quinta de Odelouca is a campsite for campers who like the silence and peace of nature. Here you don’t find entertainment, disco or other noisy things. Because of the rural character of the campsite, everyone has to be quiet from 22h30 to 7h30 in the morning. Enjoy the sounds of the night animals and the sparkling stars above you while sitting in the dark in front of your tent. Nothing gives a warm summer night a better feeling than the soothing sound of grasshoppers and crickets, the scream of the little owl, the frogs and the tawny owl with her mysterious “..oehoehoehoe..” in the distance.

Facilities

Facilities on the campsite: Electricity (6-10 amp.), Wifi, saltwater pool (12x6m), clean sanitary, facilities for the disabled and baby's, free hot water and potable water, washing machine, deposit chemical toilet, hike, bike and auto tours, tourist information for the best spots, beaches and activities in the Algarve.
Dogs are allowed but have to stay on the leash on the campsite. It is not permitted to take them to the sanitary building, the porch and the pool. They can walk free outside the campsite terrain and swim in the Odelouca. Be aware that it is not allowed for them to be on the beaches and that it can be to hot for your dog in the summer.

Because of fire precautions you cannot barbecue on charcoal on your pitch. It is just allowed from January until May. Barbeque on gas is always allowed. Campfires are not allowed in the Algarve during the whole year and the fire brigade is carefully watching this 24 hours a day.

On the base prices of the campsite are, depending from the season and the duration of your stay several discounts possible. Be aware that you only can pay with cash (euros).

Route

You can reach Quinta de Odelouca in 2 different ways, with a short route and via a longer route. The short route is suitable for cars (with trailer) and camper vans shorter than 5 meter. The long route is meant for cars with a caravan and camper vans or car caravans longer than 5 meter. Route to Quinta de Odelouca.

Environment and footprint

Our aim is to minimize our impact on the environment. Hot water heating is by 6 solar panels. Only on cloudy days we use an extra gas heater. The house, the reception and the showers of the sanitary building have their own 12 solar panels to heat the floor. We also installed 30 solarpanels which cover more than one third of our electricity needs. We have a borehole which we filter in our own drinking water, which reduces an amazing amount of plastic disposals. All public light bulbs are low energy bulbs or led-bulbs. And of course, all our showers and taps have flow reducers. May we ask you to make your footprint as small as possible?
